How is anger management connected to domestic violence? Put simply, most people that abuse their partner in this type of situation, are angry due to an anti-social disorder in that person’s subconscious mind. Anger is one of the main characteristics of personality disorder, including paranoia, schizophrenia, schizoid, antisocial, psychopathic, histrionic and sociopathic personalities.

Many people that are abusive in relationships have anti-social personalities. The anti-social personality type of person often attacks when he or she is drunk or under the influence of some drug or other. This is not true in all cases of course, but it is true in most circumstances. Anti-social personality types often disregard rules and regulations and usually feel that they have the right to do so. Anti-social personality types are control freaks and if you do not allow their authority, they often vent their anger in a controlling or violent manner.

Anti-social types will often humiliate, intimidate, brutally physically abuse and mentally belittle their spouse, but the domestic abuse does not usually stop there. This type of individual has never proven to be likely to respond to anger management techniques. In other words, men that batter their wives will usually continue to do so until someone gets seriously injured. It is not a good idea to get involved with this type of person, as there is rarely any hope at all of them controlling their anger. This type will often beat a spouse, until they only want to kill them. This means someone could die, since this sort of person will become angrier and angrier as the years pass and will rarely seek anger management help with their domestic violence.

Even if he or she does get anger management help for domestic violence, it often fails. It is not recommended to start a relationship with this type of person. The signs are an unkempt appearance or wild expressions, laughing for no apparent purpose, laughing at a situation where a person was humiliated, outbursts of anger for no reason et cetera. This type of person is superficial and will often lead you to believe that he or she is a model to society, when behind closed doors the brute appears.

Of course, hatred is the underlying cause of this person’s anger, and hate has been proven to kill. Often deep-seated jealousy also underlies the anger issues within these types of people. Many of these angry people take drugs, including cocaine, crack, marijuana and others. They often exceed the safety limit of alcohol consumption and this only increases the odds of them flying into a rage.

An example of bad anger management and domestic violence can be seen in a small town called Dowagiac in Michigan, a man tried to kill several women but was still allowed to go free. Little anger management help was provided to this person and often his furious attacks were simply because he felt that he could not control his victims. The victims were left without justice and a few even believed that they could change his angry ways.

Within a short time, he was sitting in the county gaol on a number of charges, including assault of a police officer and hit and run. The police, according to witnesses, claim that the criminal had had a weapon and was drunk when he tried to elude arrest and marijuana was found in his vehicle. This person had a long-standing record of violence but the justice system let those victims down, which led to more anger management problems.

Another example of anger is in borderline personality types. These people, when feeling abandoned, will attack others. Sometimes they are physically abusive, but most of the time they are verbally and mentally abusive. The spouse has only to go to work and when he or she returns home, they will be accused of doing something wrong.

The abusive person with anger management problems might even call the workplace of the partner numerous times to check that he or she is not spending time with someone else. This is another type of domestic violence from an angry person that seldom gets better, and like the anti-social personality types, these people are dangerous and manipulative.

Paranoid personality types are also dangerous and manipulative but their anger is almost impossible to predict. In most cases, these types react to voices heard inside or outside their head. Like the antisocial types, the paranoid type rarely has justifiable reason for their behaviour. Usually, it is merely a control issue. This means that if the victim is uncontrollable, the paranoid person will react angrily and violently.

Dealing With Stress

We all know that stress is at a very high level for the vast majority of people and most of us have our own ways of coping with this stress. However, for those who do not know how to deal with stress, it is doubtless first useful to appreciate what stress is and how it can manifest itself.

Stress is most simply defined as: “A mentally or emotionally disruptive or upsetting condition occurring in response to adverse external influences and capable of affecting physical health, usually characterized by increased heart rate, a rise in blood pressure, muscular tension, irritability, and depression” (TheFreeDictionary.com).

There are many reasons why stress can come about, but the most frequent types of stress come from finances, family, work, school, quarrels with friends and driving. The most stressful predicaments, however, are divorce, the death of a parent or spouse, moving house and swapping job or school.

Since the causes of stress are so varied, it is beneficial to be able to determine where your stress is coming from, so that you know how to treat or prevent it. You have to get to know yourself to cope with your stress, because not all people react in the same way to stress.

For example, actors and top-flight business people often say that they need the buzz of stress to give their best performances. They have obviously learned how to exploit stress to their own advantage whether unconsciously or by other methods. People who suffer from stress need to get to that phase.

When you have worked out what is causing your stress, you have a chance of counteracting it. In fact, you have many chances of dealing with it. If the source of the stress is your work, you might like to go for a drink with colleagues after work to talk things through once or twice a week, as long as you do not let it get out of hand and affect your family and your work.

Otherwise, you may go for a massage or a sauna or take regular weekend breaks either for pure relaxation or to follow a particular hobby such as hiking. In fact, a hobby of some kind is generally a good stress-reliever, even if the hobby itself is stressful. Just changing the routine seems to help a lot of people. Some people turn to shopping and beauty salons.

A weekend picnic, communing with nature, or rambling are other key de-stressers. The point is that you have to find something that suits you. For instance, I work alone all day and hate shopping, so when I have done my bit, I seek out company to have a conversation. My wife on the other hand spends all day with people, and likes to water the garden alone at the end of her working day.

Other major stress relievers are sports – either watching them or playing them. Playing is clearly healthier than watching, but given that stress is a major killer in the West, the reduction of stress is the main concern. Yoga and meditation are a fantastic compromise between being active and passive in your coping with stress.

What Are Chronic Tension Headaches?

There are so many sorts of headache and headaches are so common, that there is a very good chance that everyone you know has had them or still gets them. The reasons why people have headaches are just as wide-ranging. It could be stress, over-medication, migraine, lack of calories or tension. One of the worst kinds is chronic tension headaches.

A normal tension headache feels as if a strap is being done up tightly around your forehead, but they do not have a tendency to last very long and they are few and far between. A chronic tension headache is the same, but it may come every day or even several times a day. A headache is classed as a chronic tension headache if you get a tension headache more than fifteen times in a month for several consecutive months.

Therefore, if you think that you are suffering from this type of headache, start to write notes in a diary. When? Where? How bad? How long it lasted? And anything else that you think may be relevant, like what you have eaten or done that day and the day before. You may become aware of a connection to work or diet.

Some sufferers explain the pain as like having a very tight strap wrapped around their head, others say the sensation of constriction goes down as far as their shoulders. In general, sufferers of tension and chronic tension headaches agree, that the pain is strongest in the forehead, then along the sides of the head and occasionally at the back too.

They say that the normal level of pain is a dull ache which can be mild to moderate in intensity. It is more of a nagging, always-on pain than a sharp, distracting pain.

Chronic tension headaches appear to be early risers, that is, some people wake up with them and others say that they begin just after they get up in the morning. It is as if the contemplation of the day ahead is almost too much too bear. The pain can intensify at certain times of the day, or it can just slowly slip away practically unobserved.

Chronic tension headaches are nowhere near as universal as standard tension headaches, but they are twice as common in women as in men.

The main problem with these headaches, besides the pain itself, is that they become a routine event. You wait for it to happen, you are that sure that it will escort you throughout the day as normal. The pain can just become one continuous drag on your life.

For this reason, sufferers of CTH are often vulnerable to depression and anxiety and it is difficult to know which came first, the CTH or the depression / anxiety and which is causing which. If you think this could be your problem, do not try to cure the headaches yourself, go to see a doctor about the depression or anxiety, have that sorted out and the chronic tension headaches may disappear too without any further medication.

Learning History At Home Schooling

Do you consider that passing time in traditional classrooms is not worth it? For some people, that is true. For example, a test is coming up and the pupils are told to memorize a lot of dates and names. However, after taking the test, they will probably forget 90% of those dates and names. That’s what the majority of students do every time they have exams. If you are one of these people, you will find traditional history lessons boring, so home schooling, which focuses more on the history of the world will probably catch your fancy.

Just simple memorization is not enough to know the importance of historical, famous people and important events. Through home schooling in history, you can study the different cultures of the past in a different, but interesting way – that is your own way! By the study of history, you will also understand the current situation of the world.

But, if you think that home schooling is the most effective method for your child’s learning, you should also be prepared to take on some responsibilities. As there will be no teacher physically present, you will have to supervise your child’s learning development by yourself.

Let’s say that your kid is interested in sports. Through history and home schooling, you could start by just putting a map on the wall of your child’s room. Mark the location of his favorite sports team and make sure that you track all the team’s activities and schedules. Then, you could go back to history by reading biographies of the various athletes, who had been popular in the particular sport that your child follows. Aside from that, you could also look into the history of that specific sport and discover where it originated, its inventor, and the other things happening at that particular time.

For example, if your child loves baseball, you could teach your child about the history of Negro Leagues, government hearings on the use of steroids, and other favourite hobbies at that time. But remember that you can apply this concept to any interest like dances and inventions. You can also have conversations with your child concerning current affairs or read interesting historical works and other books. Apart from that, you could also watch documentaries together with the rest of the family. There are various resources that you can use while home schooling, such as TV, maps, books, a globe, an atlas, and encyclopedias. Due of the exciting adventures that you and your child will read about and see on film, he/she will find it easier to remember the names and dates of the history lessons. After all, education is better when it is done in an interesting way.

These methods are recommended if the child is still young, but once your child is older, you must choose an appropriate home schooling program that is suitable to his/her age group. The programs are available at the elementary, high school, and even college levels. You just have to search the Internet for these different programs. A good thing about these programs is that you can adapt them to fit the needs of your child. However, you must ensure that all the lessons are learned by your child.

After you and your child have decided to give home schooling a go, you will have to be ready to endure some changes to your lifestyle. The learning will now take place in your home not at a remote school and through the various resources that you want to use, which should include a computer and the Internet.
