Tamiya RC Cars

Owen Jones | November 21, 2011

Tamiya is a company known for producing first-rate miniatures of automobiles. They are famous today for introducing the world to the sport of mini 4WD racing. However, what many people do not know, is that Tamiya also introduced the world to RC (remote controlled or radio controlled) cars. The Tamiya RC car line-up has a lot of models that show the excellence of the company’s ability in model design.

Here are some of the Tamiya RC model cars on the market today:

Nitro Crusher – This RC car boasts of a mighty FS-15S engine that features a large bore slide carburetor to satisfy your need for speed. The engine also has a precise brake system that guarantees practical safety. This Tamiya RC car will also satisfy your desire for muscle because it comes in the form of a huge truck.

You can drive through all kinds of terrain as easily as if you were driving on the roadway. This RC car has various points that permit it to cruise through special sorts of terrain. It has extra-large tires that are perfect for dealing with mud, sand or rocks. It also has a frontal impact control system that allows you to enjoy steady running no matter what obstacles you come across.

Mini cooper – If you do not know what a Mini Cooper is, imagine Mr. Bean’s much-loved car. This RC car is based on that small-but-awesome car of the 1960′s. The Mini Cooper is famous for its small size and mighty performance. In point, the Mini Cooper even raced tremendously well in competitions like the World Rally Championships.

This radio controlled car features an M-03 chassis that is specially intended to be as speedy as possible. The double wishbone suspension also ensures the stability and first-rate handling of the car. This model is an electric RC car, which means that the batteries add a lot of weight. However, a hole cut into the chassis guarantees that this RC car can still run very well regardless of its weight.

Subaru Impreza WRC Monte Carlo – This RC car is designed for the latest kind of racing. This RC model is designed to drift. The chassis of this Tamiya RC car, the TT-01D, is constructed from lightweight materials and has been specifically designed to have a low center of gravity. This means that this Tamiya RC car will not turn over if you attempt to “drift” it.

What are the benefits of drift racing? Well, in standard bends, there is a penchant for cars to lose speed. By drifting, the car can maintain the optimum speed and precision control. Nevertheless, there is always the chance of something going wrong, which is the reason for Tamiya’s excellent engineering.

XBG Nitro Force – Capable of mind-boggling high speeds, this RC car is unquestionably a power to be reckoned with. Powered by a precision FR-S glow engine, this RC auto employs a recoil starter for clean starting every time. This Tamiya RC car also boasts of a reinforced resin frame chassis with a low center of gravity, making it extra stable during fast driving.

This Tamiya RC car also features a very aerodynamic frame, making sure that the airstream will not adversely affect your desire for speed. All in all, if you want a Tamiya RC car that will satisfy your desire for speed and excitement, this is the vehicle that you should be getting.

The Ashes – Cricket’s Most Prized Trophy

Owen Jones | October 14, 2011

The Ashes is the name given to a biennial series of test cricket matches played between England and Australia. The very first cricket test match was played between England and Australia in 1877, but the concept of ?playing for the Ashes? dates from some five years later after England had lost the ninth test match played between the two rivals.

On their 1882 tour to England just one test match was played at The Oval in August. The pitch proved almost impossible to play on and Australia, who batted first, made only 63 runs. England, in response, played a little better but by scoring 101, did achieve a first innings lead of 38 runs.

In Australia?s second innings Hugh Massie?s 55, struck at a run a minute, enabled the tourists to reach 122 runs . This meant that England required a mere 85 runs for victory. But they had not allowed for Fred Spofforth, nicknamed ?The Demon Bowler? who refused to admit defeat.

?This thing can be done? he asserted and promptly succeeded in destroying the England batting. He took his final four wickets for just two runs and England lost the match by just seven runs.

This defeat sent shock waves right through the English sporting establishment and several mock obituaries appeared in the sporting press, including the most well-known one which appeared in ?The Sporting Times? on 2 September. It read :

?In Affectionate Remembrance of ENGLISH CRICKET, which died at the Oval on 29th AUGUST 1882, Deeply lamented by a large circle of sorrowing friends and acquaintances R.I.P.

N.B.-The body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia.

Therefore this was the first reference in print to ?The Ashes?. The England tour of Australia later that year was captained by Ivo Bligh who was afterwards to be the Earl of Darnley. Bligh said that he would ?regain the ashes? and this he went on to do with England winning the three match series by two games to one.

However the expression ?the Ashes? did not really catch on until 1903 when Pelham (or ?Plum?) Warner took a team out to Australia with the same promise of recapturing the ashes. This England did by winning the series 3 -2 . The Australian press latched on to the expression and this time it stuck.

An ?urn? to hold the ashes was produced and presented to Bligh during the 1882-83 tour. It is said to hold the ashes of a cricket bail. It was presented to Bligh by a group of Victorian ladies which included Bligh?s future wife.

The urn is a small terracotta vase about six inches high and might initially have held cologne. It is so fragile that it is now kept permanently at the MCC headquarters at Lords.

There is a general conviction that the urn and its contents represent the official trophy played for by England and Australia, but it is in fact a private memento owned by the Darnley family and is just on loan to the MCC.

The trophy actually played for is a larger Waterford glass replica, but the original ?Ashes urn? still remains one of the most famous sporting icons in the world.

Background On The Famous Pheasant

Benny Jones | June 23, 2010

Among the leading bird hunting sports is hunting wild pheasant. The scientific name of the common pheasant is Phasianus Colchicus. This bird is highly prized by bird hunters.

You’ll find pheasants mostly in woodland areas but they are also in grasslands. They like to eat things like spiders, grasshoppers, worms, slugs, and centipedes or millipedes. These invertebrates produce a delightful treat for these beautiful birds. They love to also eat a number of grains and berries. At night, these gorgeous fowl will roost up in the trees and at daybreak they will peck the ground for some tasty treats.

Pheasants are also a phrase used for quail, ruffed grouse, or partridge. The ring-necked pheasant was introduced in North America in 1857 and became well established in areas out West such as around the Rocky Mountains, Midwest, and the Great Plains. They have also populated parts of both Canada and Mexico. Male pheasants often have long black streaked tails and a distinctive white ring around their neck. More colorful than the female, male pheasants will be colored with a variety of green, purple, gold, and brown plumage that is simply stunning. The plumage of the female pheasant is much duller in appearance and has more of a brownish speckled look. Both the female and male have yellowish stout beaks and rounded short wings. The male can have a tail over 20 inches long and it often has long sharp spurs that often protects it from other wild animals.

Pheasant populations are sensitive to land development as well as clear cutting and environmental pollution. For the sake of the future of pheasant’s in the United States, there are more and more pheasant farms being started to help boost the local bird populations. Pheasant farms guarantee a better solution for the pheasants to survive and flourish so that future generations can enjoy the bounty of the land.

Out west on the Great Plains, you will find that there are an abundance of pheasants in the open fields and around old farm houses. The birds absolutely love to peck around on the grasses for grains and insects in the fields and roost around old homeplaces and farming implements. The United Kingdom has a lot more pheasants than we do here in the United States. In the United States, it is estimated that there are about 10 million pheasants while in the UK there are approximately 35 million.

Males do a strutting movement in the spring of the year to entice a female into courting. The head on the male will become bright red and engorged with.feathers puffed out as the male begins strutting in a courtship dance. Males will fight each other to the end for breeding rights with the females.

Being polygamous, the males will mate with more than one female and are often seen with a group of females following him. Female pheasant will lay an egg batch of about 10 eggs after mating. The eggs will be incubated by 23 to 26 days before hatching. Usually this occurs in the late spring and early summer starting in April through June.

Vacationing With Your Dog In St Croix

Owen Jones | June 7, 2010

Whether you prefer clear mountain air or the ozone-rich, salty air of the sea, you can find places to take your dog for a walk that are idyllic, even when you are on holiday. If you are a nature lover and a dog lover, you could choose a vacation destination with nature and your dog in mind.

City-bound hotel holidays or long, driving holidays are not very enjoyable for your dog. If a dog is going to be at home all day, he would prefer be in his own home all day. Likewise, with driving. He might plead to go the mall with you in the car, but doing a coast to coast run in a hot fortnight in June, is not really what he is all about.

Therefore, if you are planning a vacation that you think your pet would not really like, why not do him and yourself a favour and leave him at home? Leave him with a dog-loving relative or friend or board him in a kennels that you have researched well yourself.

There are literally hundreds of boarding kennels in operation in every state and often there are thousands. Most of them are good, some are outstanding and the owners of some could do with a stiff talking to. I put my dog in one once that I had not checked out well enough and went away for two weeks. When I got back four hours early, they were not ready me and my dog was dirty and forlorn.

I felt awfully guilty and my dog would not ‘speak’ to me for a week. Really! No eye contact, no tail wagging, would not always come when called, no happy running about, just a hang dog expression for seven days. She must have felt that I let her down badly, which of course I had, by not researching the kennels.

A tremendous place to take your dog is St Croix in the United States Virgin Islands. The US Virgin Islands are literally part of the United States of America and you can go there without a passport, with your US dollars and with your dog.

Not every hotel allows animals just as in continental USA, but there are loads that do. There are also package holidays that will take you and your dog from the airport to the island hotel and back again all for one price.

Of the four main islands in the US Virgin Islands, St. Croix is most likely the best option for going to with a pet dog, because it is less heavily populated than the other islands and is by far the largest.

The hotel or resort will almost certainly not provide feeding dishes, bedding and toys but they will certainly have a shop where you can purchase such things. It is perhaps not worth bringing your own either unless you have a large suitcase and a generous weight allowance. Food for your dog will also be widely available on the island, of course.

St Croix has various types of landscape and plenty of activities to take full advantage of them. There are beautiful tropical beaches perfect for swimming or playing in the waves; there are the rolling plains of the old plantations, which are perfect for long walks and there are hills, mountains and rain forest to explore with your dog too.

Adults Only All Inclusive Resorts And Hotels

Owen Jones | June 5, 2010

There are a few possibilities when talking about going to an adults only all-inclusive resort. Most all-inclusive resorts were designed for families with young children, however there are an increasing amount of adult only all-inclusive resorts.

However, there are also adult only and family nude all-inclusive resorts, especially in Europe and Australia. If you are searching for a nude adult only all-inclusive resort for your vacation, you will probably have to go abroad to places like Greece, Italy, the old Yugoslavia area or Australia.

Most people in the USA, the UK and northern Europe would find sharing a nudist beach with children awkward in these ultra-PC days, but nudist beaches for adults only can be excellent fun. It is best not to be inhibited, however some people find it helps to go to a nudist beach alone while others feel more comfortable in the company of adult friends. Couples often find adult only nudist beaches exotic, erotic and romantic.

Locating adults only all-inclusive resorts is not complicated with the power of a search engine and the Internet on hand. However, if you want to try nudist adults only all inclusive resorts in the USA, it could be problematic. This is because nudity is a controversial topic in the USA.

If, however ‘by adult only’, you simply mean to imply over twenty-one year olds only, then you will have a lot more luck. There are hundreds of non-nudist adults only all-inclusive resorts, hotels and cruises around the United States, Hawaii, the US Virgin Islands and everywhere else in the Caribbean.

Adult only all-inclusive cruises are very popular. Cruising is not especially suited to children. There is not enough room and they can get into severe danger or even drop overboard unnoticed until it is too late. Adult only all-inclusive resorts are excellent, if you like staying in a chalet or cabin.

In between these two limits of fine living on the all-inclusive vacations front are the all-inclusive hotels. Plenty of hotels, but far fewer resorts, do put age restrictions on who can reside there. The Club style holidays are good examples; ‘Club 18-30′ is well-known, but not all of its venues are all-inclusive.

If you are still thinking about nude adult only all-inclusive resorts, you might find it simpler to unearth a selection of topless beaches. These are two a penny in Europe and elsewhere, but in the united States and the some of the Caribbean, you may be able to join a private beach that allows this style of costume.
